2023 MG GT redefines the compact sedan segment

MANILA: MG Philippines has officially launched its newest sedan offering, the 2023 MG GT.

The 2023 MG GT epitomizes the brand's tagline, “Live to Defy,” by giving Filipino motorists a car that will defy their stereotypes about sedans. By boasting impressive power figures, expansive exterior and interior dimensions, a cozy interior, cutting-edge safety features, and advanced driver convenience features, the 2023 MG GT exceeds the standard idea of sedans in a similar spec and price range. The 2023 MG GT offers a stylish alternative to the norm as it  comes with Car-C specifications and features at a Car-B price.

The 2023 MG GT is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 161ps and 250Nm of torque. The 2023 MG GT accelerates from 0 to 100kph in about 8.5 seconds. Every revolution of the 2023 MG GT's dynamic engine is efficient, thanks to a smooth-shifting, seven-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic (TST) Transmission with paddle shifters that keeps the power band optimized.

The 2023 MG GT's sporty attributes carry over from the under the hood to the exterior, where angular body accent lines and a fastback profile emphasize the vehicle's dynamic attitude. The vehicle's aggressive front fascia is defined by a 3D Digital Flaming Grille that is surrounded by full LED headlights and daytime running lamps up front. A ducktail accent on the trunk provides a sophisticated touch, while bright, highly visible 3D LED Racetrack Tail Lamps cut through the darkness, and a split exhaust gives the vehicle an invigorating finish.

On the inside, the 2023 MG GT features a fighter jet-inspired cockpit with a 12.3-inch full virtual gauge cluster and a power-adjustable Zero-Gravity Sports Seat with lumbar support for the driver.

The dashboard is also equipped with a 10-inch floating HD Touchscreen Infotainment System that is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. This screen also displays the viewpoint of the vehicle's 360-degree camera and reversing camera.

The 2023 MG GT can accommodate up to five occupants. It offers generous legroom and headroom, thanks to its impressive dimensions of 4,675mm in length, 1,842mm in width, and 1,480mm in height, with a long 2,680mm wheelbase. This results in maximized cabin and trunk space, allowing each passenger to sit comfortably and bring everything they need with them. The 2023 MG GT is not a typical sedan, as evidenced by the fact that its dimensions are equivalent to sedans in a higher segment.

The 2023 MG GT has plenty of power, good looks, and comfort, but its overall value is enhanced by the inclusion of modern passive and active safety measures that are not standard on many other cars in this price range or segment. To begin with, the 2023 MG GT is meticulously put together. Its high density steel cage body is bonded using cutting-edge laser brazing, ensuring a sturdy and durable chassis and body structure. Furthermore, it comes with advanced safety features including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent High Beam Control (IHC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

The 2023 MG GT is now available in all MG dealerships nationwide. It comes in two variants: Alpha (P1,015,888) and Sport (P1,193,888).

Every purchase of the 2023 MG GT comes with a five-year or 100,000km warranty, free periodic maintenance (PMS) for the first 10,000km or six months, and 24/7 roadside support through MG HERO Services.
