2024 Kia Seltos unveiled at Los Angeles Auto Show

MANILA: The 2024 Kia Seltos, which debuted at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show on Thursday, sports several significant upgrades. The Seltos now has a more dominating appearance, thanks to its sophisticated exterior design, which was created to appeal to customers who prefer living on the go. Inside, a segment-first available panoramic display serves as the focal point of the futuristic and modern cabin. The Seltos has a lively powertrain under the hood and the new X-Line trim added to the lineup.

“Our stable of capable SUVs is stronger than ever, and despite being the smallest of the bunch, the Seltos has been a mighty performer since its introduction. Loaded with standout style, some of the latest technology, advanced driver assistance systems, and enthusiastic performance, the 2024 Seltos serves as the perfect gateway into our bigger and more capable SUVs when the consumer is ready to step up,” Kia America Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Steven Center stated.

To differentiate the 2024 Kia Seltos from the competitive segment of small SUVs, a number of exterior details have been deliberately redesigned with cutting-edge forms. The Kia Seltos now sports a larger tiger nose grille that accentuates width and gives the vehicle a bolder look. Full-projection LED headlamps are available as an option. There is also an available Star Map signature lighting that forms a distinctive image across the front grille so that other drivers and pedestrians can spot the Seltos from afar. For a cleaner look, vertically shaped fog lights are merged with daytime running lights.

The rear lighting design on the tailgate, plus the backup lamp and the rear reflector on the lower bumper resemble the signature lighting in the front.

The LX, S, EX, and SX trims feature new geometric wheel designs.

The 2024 Kia Seltos is available in three colors: Pluton Blue, Fusion Black, and Valais Green.

The available panoramic display for the 2024 Kia Seltos combines the 10.25-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch center display. The new dashboard trim matches the exterior horizontal design elements.

The 2024 Kia Seltos is the latest Kia to get an X-Line trim. This trim features additional exterior upgrades such as exclusive front grille design with gunmetal finish, uniquely designed 18-inch wheels, black bridge-type roof rack, gloss black door garnish, and X-Line badging.

The 2024 Kia Seltos continues to provide a comfortable, powerful, and confident ride. A new transmission is now available, giving the turbocharged engine more power and improving ride and handling.

The revised Gamma 1.6-liter turbo GDI four-cylinder engine produces 195hp and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder MPI engine delivers 147hp and 132lb-ft of torque, and is paired to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

To deliver the best driving experience, the Normal, Smart, and Sport drive modes each use specialized settings for the powertrain, drivetrain, and steering mapping.

The available active on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) system features a center locking differential that can divide power equally between the front and rear wheels for more challenging situations. It is intended to provide all-weather capabilities and improved driving performance in a variety of scenarios. Torque vectoring is designed to improve traction by anticipating which wheel will use power most efficiently, improving cornering stability, and providing the vehicle with more precise handling dynamics in different situations.

The 2024 Kia Seltos has new convenience and driver technology features that are developed to improve users' travel experiences. It is equipped with four USB ports (two in front and two in the rear), power liftgate, and ventilated front seats.

Kia Connect on the 2024 Kia Seltos now comes with Digital Key 2 Touch that allows users to lock, unlock, and drive their vehicles using their compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, and Samsung Galaxy smart devices. Additionally, these keys can be shared with family and friends through text messages using supported devices. It also enables Map and Infotainment Over-The-Air (OTA) updates that can automatically update the maps and infotainment system with the newest features to help provide the best driving experience.

With newly added features, Kia's lineup of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) keeps the 2024 Kia Seltos up to date with some of the latest technological advancements. These features include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist.

Other ADAS features include Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear View Monitor, Safe Exit Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 1.5, Smart  Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.

The 2024 Kia Seltos will arrive in US dealerships in the first half of 2023.
