25th Edition of Trans Sport Show 2016 – A Quick Wrap Up
MANILA: Trans Sport Show has wrapped its 25th Edition on 22nd May 2016 with a bang. This, one of the biggest auto shows of the country, was organized between 19th and 22nd May 2016 at the SMX Convention Center and witnessed a big crowd of auto enthusiasts during these 4 days. With vintage to modified cars on the grounds, it was definitely a treat for the auto enthusiasts who got to witness such diversions. So while this show was about the yesteryear cars which are long lost and forgotten by the new generation, it was also about the modifications and advancements a standard car can get.
If you missed this show by any chance, here is a quick recap and gallery of the beauties showcased at the 25th Trans Sport Show which swept away the hearts of the onlookers with their sleek and stylish looks. Most of the cars from the vintage fleet displayed at the arena were borrowed from celebrities while the modified versions were displayed by the manufacturers to show the best of what their fleet can turn out to be.
Some of the classic rides which made their presence at this show and stole the hearts of many are – Mitsubishi Lancer Box-Type and Nissan Fairlady Z. Also, an astonishingly restored Dearborn-built Mustang Fastback 1967 was also displayed at the grounds which witnessed the maximum number of footfalls. The best part of this auto show was that the visitors could meet the owners of the displayed fleet and hear the stories behind them. The best part was to know the inspiration behind the modifications and the entire process which the vehicle and the modifier went through to give the car the present face and shape. The customized Porsche 911 C2 and Mini Cooper with a Liberty Walk body-kit were also put on display which were appreciated by the visitors.
The tuner segment was dominated by the Japanese automaker with cars like Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and Subaru WRX STI in tow. A unique Mitsubishi Lancer GSR with powertrain and aspects that of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V was also spotted on the booth. Some cars like – late 1980s Honda CRX and 1972 Toyota Corolla Sprinter took the visitors in the flashback while the European classics like 1956 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, 1974 Volkswagen Buggy and 1956 MG B Convertible added the versatility of the cars displayed at the auto event.
Some automakers also showcased their standard fleet just to compare them with the modified ones and to flaunt the awards and accolades received recently. The Japanese automaker Mazda brought its Mazda 2 SkyActive R 4-door sedan to this show and displayed its credentials along with the 2015 Car of the Year – Philippines Award. Surely this was one hell of a show which brought the petrolheads and auto enthusiasts together at one place. With such a wonderful show put together by the automakers and crazy creators of the modified machines this year, we hope that next year it comes with more cars, even crazier and surprising!
