3 Hyundai concepts win 2024 Red Dot Awards

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has won three distinctions at the 2024 Red Dot Awards. The South Korean car brand’s Santa Fe XRT Concept clinched Red Dot’s Design Concept award in the Cars and Motorcycles category, while the brand’s Digital Curated Space (DICE) and Spatial Curated Experience (SPACE) both won in the Autonomous category. 

By securing three accolades at the 2024 Red Dot Awards, Hyundai says it continues to up the ante in global design leadership. Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design SangYup Lee also heralded the wins as a testament to the talents, skills, and hard work of the South Korean company’s engineers and designers. 

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by the Red Dot Award for our innovative design concepts. This accolade really shows the amazing achievements and dedication of our talented designers. They’ve worked tirelessly on these projects, hand in hand with our engineers at the R&D center. It also underscores the strong global competitiveness of Hyundai’s design identity,” Lee said. 

For those unaware, the XRT Concept is an alternative take on the current-gen Hyundai Santa Fe. Specifically, its outdoor adventure capabilities were highlighted, thanks to the addition of off-road wheels and tires and many parts focusing on external storage. 

The DICE, meanwhile, is a hydrogen-powered mobility concept designed to provide a personalized form of transport that is optimized to the various needs and wants of a client. The pod-shaped vehicle is able to give what its riders the perfect interior atmosphere thanks to artificial intelligence analysis and bio-signal tracking.  It also touted to utilize subscription-based services and the capability to purify air as it travels around a city. 

The SPACE, meanwhile, is another hydrogen-powered mobility concept. It is designed to provide utmost comfort for people with mobility impairments thanks to the versatility of its “adaptive seat” and easier ingress and egress through its boarding height control feature.
