All-new Volvo EM90 to offer lounge-like experience on the road

MANILA: Volvo will be unveiling its first ever fully electric premium multipurpose vehicle, the EM90, on November 12.

In a press release, the Swedish carmaker revealed that the upcoming model will offer generous cabin space with a wide range of premium materials, luxury lounge seats, and a large panoramic sunroof.

“When designing the EM90, we focused on creating a room of personal comfort and an experience that emphasizes traveling in style and elegance. In creating the EM90 interior, we focused on a car that works just as well when you’re on the move for work as when you travel with your family,” Volvo Shanghai Design Studio Head Sophie Li stated.

Aside from being spacious, the EM90’s interior is also flexible, making it perfect for family and business use. This six-seater gives every passenger their own personal space with personalized entertainment and comfort adjustment options through the armrest and a touchscreen on a wood surface material.

The second-row lounge seats have zero-gravity cushions to ensure maximum comfort and support. They also come with a massage function, individual ventilation and heating options, and built-in tables and cupholders. The long-sliding second-row seats, as well as the sliding rear doors, make it easy to access the third row.

Scandinavian design elements, such as the exquisite Orrefors crystal applied in the gear shifter and the backlit birch wood deco panels on the dashboard, doors, and the back of the front seats, further enhance the premium vibe of the interior.

The upholstery and deco patterns were inspired by both Scandinavian nature and Asian art, resulting in a harmonious connection between contemporary design and the beauty of the natural world.

The Volvo EM90 will make its debut in China, where pre-orders will be accepted starting on the launch date.
