Audi Q7 e-Tron Readying for the Real World Experience
MANILA: Sometimes, it really seems impossible to beat the German boffins, especially when it comes to machine on wheels. Audi is known as a premium brand that always comes with futuristic technologies accompanied with ultra-modern architecture. The next big thing coming up your way is the all-new version of the flagship SUV, i.e. 2016 Audi Q7 e-Tron. The Audi e-Tron concept was showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and the firm has hinted towards crafting a stunning production model.
The concept of e-Tron is explained as a powerful hybrid SUV. Being the flagship SUV offered by the German automaker, it is equipped with a 3.0-litre TDi Turbo direct-injected, V-6 engine accompanied with an electric motor. It is further powered by a 17.3 kW lithium-ion battery. The robust combination of a 3.0-litre engine with an electric motor is tuned to churn out a maximum power of 373 hp and achieves a peak torque of 700Nm.
Along with the 4X4, the battery powered SUV can make 0-100 kmph in just 6.2 seconds. This time, the German boffins have worked to offer an environment-friendly ride. The fuel consumption has been reduced to 1.8 litre per 100 km. And, if in case you are running out of fuel, even then you can commute up to 56 kms just on electric power. Carrying aerodynamic curves and cues, it is built around the Audi Spaceframe technology.
The Audi hybrid SUV comes equipped with a charging cable and a multiport connection along with several connectors suiting the domestic and international sockets. It will take just two and half hours to get a fully charged battery with the help of a two-phase charging cycle. The firm has installed a TFT screen to supervise power usage and delivery, energy-flow meter, charge-state and even the driving range to be carried out by the charged battery.
For driver’s convenience, Audi has furnished its flagship SUV with Audi Connect e-Tron services and Audi MMI Connect. These features allow you to control interior climate and charging procedures as well. From this month, 2016 Audi Q7 e-Tron Quattro will be made available for German fanatics, carrying an impressive price tag of 80,500 Euros.
Apart from this, Audi has also revealed its all new Audi Q2 crossover, at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. However, as of now, we are hoping to get the Audi e-Tron soon on our land.
