Audi Q7 gets IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating anew

MANILA: The new Audi Q7 received the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) this year.

According to Audi, the latest recognition highlights the sport utility vehicle’s advanced safety features that make it an “ideal choice for families seeking security, space, and versatility.”

To recall, Audi Philippines — under PGA Cars — brought to the country the nameplate’s latest iteration last January — which started the firm’s series of launches at it celebrates its two decades of presence.

Audi shared that demonstrated exceptional crashworthiness results across multiple tests conducted by the IIHS.

The new Audi Q7 earned top grades in the following examinations:

• Rear-passenger safety during a moderate-overlap front collision test
• Small-overlap front and side-impact evaluations
• Pedestrian front crash prevention system

Allowing the new Audi Q7 secure the highest rating are its comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance systems, which include:

• Cruise control system with speed limiter
• Lane departure assist
• Park assist with parking system plus

Under the new Audi Q7’s hood is a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder TFSI gasoline-propelled mill that can dish out the following figures:

Power is transferred to the brand’s quattro all-wheel drive system via eight-speed tiptronic transmission. This lets vehicle run 100 kilometers per hour (kph) from standstill in 5.6 seconds reach a top speed of 250 kph.
