Bentley Continental GT Speed debuts in US with unique Mulliner customization

MANILA: Bentley has launched the next-generation Continental GT Speed for the United States market by showing off an example heavily customized by Mulliner, the company’s in-house personalization and coachbuilding program.

The bespoke version of the Continental GT Speed was displayed at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” event, which is a part of the recently concluded 2024 Monterey Car Week held at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. 

To make it look truly unique, Mulliner gave the aforementioned example of the Continental GT Speed a special Orange Flame Satin exterior color, which required 55 hours of work to finish. The said color was also paired with gloss black decorative exterior pieces, a set of 22-inch ten-spoke wheels, and a sports exhaust. 

The vehicle’s interior, meanwhile, was graced with diamond quilted leather upholstery using Brunel leather with Gravity Grey contrast-stitching. Other sections of the custom vehicle’s cabin also received bright Mandarin orange accents for added flair. 

Like the one shown off at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the unit shown at The Quail uses the most powerful engine the Crewe-based car company has ever produced. 

At maximum, the Continental GT Speed’s 4.0-liter V8 high-performance hybrid powertrain can produce up to 771 horsepower and 1,000 Newton-meters. Thanks to its engine output, the Bentley two-door luxury car can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in just 3.1 seconds. It also has a claimed top speed of 335 kph. 

In the Philippines, Bentley Manila has yet to officially launch the next-generation Continental GT Speed, but it currently offers the Continental, Mulsanne, Flying Spur, and Bentayga. Additionally, the Mulliner customization program is also available locally.
