Bentley Flying Spur rolls out as China retailers reopen
MANILA: Bentley Motors recently confirmed the full opening of its 40-strong retail network in China as the country slowly returns to regular operations after the COVID-19 outbreak.
At the same time, the British auto brand will begin customer deliveries in China of the all-new Bentley Flying Spur grand tourer.
The first Flying Spur deliveries to customers happened in the United Kingdom (UK) and across Europe during the first quarter of this year. The rollout of the luxury Bentley model is scheduled later this year in the North American, Eastern, and Asian markets.
Similar to all impacted markets worldwide, Bentley has been working closely with its local partners, especially in adopting strict protocols and guidelines following local policies to move progressively, safely, and efficiently. Furthermore, both parties have been working before the reopening of retail networks to plan for the time when circumstances require operations to resume. New initiatives include longer operating hours to minimize the traffic in the showroom, improved cleaning and protective gear in place, and multimedia presentations, wherever possible.
Kim Airey, managing director of Bentley Motors Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, stated that during these challenging times, a series of policies had been put in motion to safeguard the wellbeing of their shareholders and to secure customer services. Bentley has paid careful attention to updates related to the coronavirus pandemic. The auto company is also grateful to reopen showrooms with stringent safety measures and encourage customers to enjoy the exceptional Bentley lineup.
Throughout the global pandemic, the Chinese retailers of Bentley have made regular organizational changes and introduced protective measures. The purpose of this is to prevent transmission and safeguard customer health while still providing reliable services to them. Retailers have also enforced a streamlined online sales approach to minimize impact during this time. Aside from this, Bentley retailers have implemented numerous social-distancing strategies to deter the spread of the virus while improving the quality of services in their facilities.
Meanwhile, the all-new Flying Spur is said to establish an excellent standard for new luxury grand touring. It is also the ideal combination of unique, four-door, limousine-style convenience, and performance-oriented agility.
At present, 127 exclusive interior and exterior color-split variations have been chosen, and this highlights the range of options open to customers. Proudly displaying the Flying Spur for the first time, the digitally deployed, hood-mounted Flying B mascot is becoming the most common option of China, with over 50% of customers preferring this signature symbol.
The more deliberate and aggressive stance of the Flying Spur benefits from an expanded wheelbase, while the interior is undeniably Bentley. Elegant style lines stream through the car, along with its three-dimensional diamond-quilted leather door inserts. The newly designed fluted leather seats have diamond quilting for the Mulliner Driving Specification. In the back area, all significant functions are operated through an innovative removable touch screen remote control.
Advanced driver assistance technologies include a head-up display, blind-spot warning, traffic assist, and night vision infra-red camera. The advanced connectivity services of the Flying Spur enable drivers to be more connected to their surroundings.
For the first time, the all-new Flying Spur also has additional features like the Bentley dynamic ride and electronic all-wheel steering along with the active all-wheel drive. These features all combine to provide exceptional riding pleasure and handling. The power comes from the improved version of the 6.0-liter, double-turbocharged W12.
