Bentley launches Bentayga Apex Edition

MANILA: Bentley Motors has recently launched its latest bespoke line for the Bentayga sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Created under the company’s Mulliner division, the Bentley Bentayga Apex Edition further extends both the nameplate’s visual impact and dynamic ability. Per the Crewe-headquartered marque, the newest offering is the “most dynamic-looking and driving Bentayga ever.”

Performance

Based on the Bentley Bentayga S, the Apex Edition is powered by the potent 4.0-liter, twin-scroll turbocharged V8 gasoline engine that can dish out up to 542 horsepower and 770 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Its mill lets the vehicle gallop 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 4.5 seconds and reach a peak speed of 290 kph.

Stopping power comes from carbon-silicon-carbide disc brakes that offer a maximum braking torque of 6,000 Nm, withstand temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Celsius, and reduce more than 20 kilograms (kg) compared to iron disc brakes.

More weight-saving features are also incorporated in the 22-inch Mulliner carbon wheels (developed specifically for Bentayga in collaboration with Bucci Composites) that trim down unsprung mass by 24 kg.

6 curated themes by Mulliner

Mulliner has created six curated themes for the Bentley Bentayga Apex Edition — each exuding a different character.

The initial theme features an exterior in Candy Red satin, with a livery of Anthracite and Arctic White stripe and pinstripes in Arctic White. For its cabin the vehicle is fitted with Arctic White main hide and Hotspur secondary hide that complements the Arctic White contrast stitching and seat piping. The aforementioned contrast hue can also be found surrounding the satin carbon fiber fascia and waistrails.

Design theme two sports an Anthracite exterior, gloss black livery stripe and Mandarin pinstripes, The same differing color serves as the main hide framed by Beluga secondary hide. The said hue inside also frames the satin carbon fiber veneer and overmats.

For the Apex Edition’s third design theme, the body is covered in Orange Flame as well as the livery stripe on the carbon fiber body kit. The cabin’s main hide is in Linen and Newmarket Tan as secondary hide with charcoal as an accent hide (seen on the seat wings and contrast stitching, steering wheel, and center console).

Under design theme four, the vehicle is offered with Alpine Green finish and livery stripe and an orange pinstripe. Inside, the SUV is covered in Portland and Cumbrian Green for the main and secondary hides, respectively — with orange accents on the contrast stitching, seat piping, veneer edging as well as on the console and steering wheel.

Theme five comes with Pale Brodgar exterior, with an Anthracite livery stripe and pinstripe in Bacalar Bronze (a shade originally created for Bentley Mulliner’s ultimate two-seat barchetta). The hide colors for its interior are Linen and Porpoise, with Bacalar Bronze trimmings in the contrast seat piping as well as on the steering wheel and console accent tabs.

Lastly, design theme six has an Extreme Silver body color, Beluga stripe running centrally along bonnet and roof, and Signal Yellow painted pinstripe that bordered the body stripe and the lower edge of the aero components. The same body color comes as the main hide and Beluga for the secondary hide.

Per Bentley, owners of the limited Le Mans Edition Continental GT and GTC (created in 2023 to mark the 20th anniversary of Bentley’s sixth victory at the La Sarthe circuit) can specify an Apex Edition Bentayga in matching livery of Verdant green with Moonbeam Le Mans style racing stripe.

Matches what is in the Le Mans Edition Continental GT’s cabin, the interior is tailored with a Beluga hide, Dinamica fabric seat faces, Hotspur stitchings and seatbelts.

Apex Edition specification

Each Bentayga Apex Edition features a high degree of bespoke content.

The vehicles’ bespoke exterior features include the Styling specification’s aerodynamic front spoiler, rear spoiler, sills and mirror caps in satin carbon fiber.

On the other hand, interior appointments revolve around a bespoke color split with satin carbon fiber fascia, center console and door waistrails and the five- seat Comfort specification, complemented by the Naim for Bentley audio system.

Additional touches include Apex Edition blind seat insert embroidery with contrast Bentley emblems, the Apex Edition namestyle on the waistrails, and Apex Edition carbon fiber treadplates. Carbon fiber Apex Edition badges also feature on the exterior D-Pillar.

All Apex Edition models feature the latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with the inclusion of Touring specification.
