Bentley posts 31% sales growth in 2021
MANILA: Bentley Motors has recorded total sales of 14,659 units in 2021, reflecting a 31% growth versus the previous year. New model releases, a refreshed product portfolio, and a rising demand for Bentley’s new hybrid models, which were part of the brand’s Beyond100 strategic route to full electrification by 2030, all contributed to this significant achievement.

In addition to the 40% share held by the Bentayga, Bentley’s ultimate luxury grand tourer, the Continental GT contributed 33% of total sales. With the upcoming launch of the highly anticipated Hybrid, the Flying Spur’s 27% share of overall sales is predicted to increase even more in 2022.
“2021 was yet another year of unpredictability though I am delighted to be able to confirm that we overcame significant headwinds, and deliver a breakthrough in our sales performance,” Bentley Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Adrian Hallmark stated. “This is our second record sales year in the successive years and is a positive sign of our brand strength, operational excellence, strong global demand and affirmation of our strategic priorities. The reaction to the market introduction of the Bentayga Hybrid and anticipation for Flying Spur Hybrid demonstrate the path the luxury sector is heading, and we are positioned firmly at the forefront. These numbers are validation that we not only lead the sector in sales and market share, but also investment in electric technologies and commitment to being the first fully electrified and zero carbon luxury car company in the world.”
The Americas regions delivered 4,212 units in 2021, up 39% from the previous year’s record of 3,035. This success was reinforced by the debut of the Continental GT Speed and a full year of sales of the Flying Spur, making the region Bentley’s top market.
For the second year in a row, China saw the biggest growth, with 4,033 units sold compared to 2,880 the previous year, as the traditional four-door market maintained strong sales of the Flying Spur and Bentayga.
Europe capped off the year with 2,520 units delivered, up from 2,193 in 2020, a 15% increase driven by equally distributed sales across model lines.
Bentley’s home market in the UK maintained its strong sales performance, with 1,328 units sold. This was a 14% rise over the previous year’s figure.
In the Middle East, Bentley sold 915 units, up from 735 the previous year.
Lastly, the Asia Pacific region saw a 37% increase and a record performance, selling 1,651 units compared to 1,203 in 2020.
