BYD Cars PH set for Sealion 6 launch next week

MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines is set to formally reveal the first model that will be introduced to the local market for the second half of 2024.

Named the Sealion 6, the upcoming model will be formally revealed on July 25 — weeks after ACMobility Head of Automotive Retail and Distribution Antonio Zara III announced the company’s plan to bring several models within July-December 2024 timeline.

The said product is under the same "Ocean" series, alongside the Dolphin (which is already available locally) and the Seagull (which has a strong possibility to be offered soon).

Based on the invitation sent to Zigwheels Philippines, the aforementioned offering will feature the Super DM-i technology, which could mean that the vehicle will have a hybrid powertrain.

The company has yet to share relevant details about the soon-to-be-launched model, but invited the public to see the offering in the metal on July 25 at the Glorietta Activity Center where it will be formally unveiled.
