Exterior
Style-wise, the BYD Shark 6 DMO comes with an imposing look thanks to its squared-off corners and its hefty-looking proportions.

For its front fascia, the newly introduced plug-in hybrid pickup truck boasts a square-shaped grille flanked by LED headlamps. It is also surrounded by the vehicle’s eye-catching LED daytime running lamp bar and is framed from the bottom by a hefty-looking front bumper.
If viewed from the side, one will immediately notice the perfectly straight line running from the rear edge of the bed all the way to its front end. It also comes with reasonably sized power-folding side mirrors and a series of black plastic claddings for its wheel arches, as well as on the lower sections of its doors.

Other noteworthy exterior bits present on the ride include a set of 18-inch wheels, static side steps, an LED taillight bar, rear-mounted recovery hooks, and a pair of roof rails.
Interestingly, the model has a few ways to open the tailgate. It can be done via a button on the tailgate, the touchscreen, the keyfob, and through a button on the center console.
Once open, users can access the truck bed’s three power outlets and cargo hooks. On the top-spec Premium trim, it also comes equipped with a sports bar.

Interior
Inside the BYD Shark 6 DMO is a well-arranged cabin appointed with plenty of creature comforts.

For starters, all of its seats are clad in leather, with the ones on the front offering a decent amount of bolstering, a ventilation feature, and power adjustability. The second row, on the other hand, has a reclining function. Both rows of the vehicle also get a decent number of bottle/cup holders and elbow rests.
Cooling everyone inside the vehicle is a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear vents. Likewise, sprinkled around the cabin are sturdy grab handles and USB-type C charging ports.
Notably, the rear cabin boasts a totally flat floor. As such, the model’s second row has no issues when it comes to accommodating three adults.

For onboard entertainment, the Shark 6 DMO was kitted with a 12.8-inch central infotainment display. Similar to other cars in the marque’s lineup, the said screen can switch its orientation from portrait to landscape with a push of a button.
Handling connectivity for the Shark’s infotainment system is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth. Sound, on the other hand, is outputted by an eight-piece speaker system. As an off-road-spec ride, the newly introduced hybrid truck comes standard with a 4x4 system with optimized terrain modes for mud, sand, and gravel. Notably, the model is also built on a specialized body-on-frame chassis, which integrates the blade battery to form a sturdy but flexible platform.
To ensure ride quality, the BYD pickup truck uses a double-wishbone suspension for the front and rear. Stopping power, on the other hand, is provided by front and rear discs.

Similar to other BYD plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), the Shark 6 DMO has an all-electric range of 100 kilometers (km). Its estimated combined range, however, clocks in at over 800 km.
