CONFIRMED: SAIC Motor PH to introduce MG Cyberster

MANILA: SAIC Motor Philippines has confirmed the arrival of the MG Cyberster in the country next year following its preview today.

The preview, which was spearheaded by SAIC Motor Philippines President Felix Jiang, was made months after a tip was shared to Zigwheels Philippines that the electrified roadster will be retailed in the country by next year.

In an event today, the company shared that the previewed MG offering will be officially introduced to the Philippine market within the first half of 2024.   

SAIC Motor Philippines did not share any details about the upcoming model at the moment but here are some possible specifications.

Abroad, the MG Cyberster is said to be powered by dual electric motors that can provide a maximum churn of 544 horses and 725 Newton-meters of pulling power — allowing the car to zoom 0-100 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds.

Last week, MG brought the Cyberster to Thailand. According to its distributor in the Land of Smiles, the vehicle has a 77-kilowatt-hour battery option. It also has independent double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.

Earlier, the unnamed source shared that the MG Cyberster in the Philippines could be within sub P4 million.
