Could the new Bentley flagship model to be unveiled on May 10 be a LWB Bentayga?

MANILA: Bentley will announce a fifth model to join its portfolio of luxury cars on May 10.

In a release, Bentley described its upcoming model as thus: "With an extra dimension of on-board wellness, the new model will sit in sumptuous comfort at the pinnacle of its range and deliver a breadth of capabilities beyond anything previously offered." 

Since Bentley has only given a teaser for its fifth model, reports say this could be a long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga SUV. Bentley's move to make another version of the Bentayga could have been influenced by the model's popularity, as in 2021, the Bentayga accounted 40% of the luxury brand’s sales, reports say. 

The fifth model will sit alongside the current Bentayga, Flying Spur, and the Continental GT and Continental GT Convertible, which Bentley considers as separate models. 

Rumor also has it that this fifth Bentley model could replace the Mulsanne in the British car marque's lineup. 

As for powertrains, Bentley’s current range of models offer a six-liter twin-turbocharged W12, a four-liter V8, and a three-liter turbocharged hybrid. The new car could be available with the choice of all three.
