Ford Transit - Top features

The Transit is the latest vehicle to join Ford’s fleet here in the Philippines. It is also Ford’s only offering in the Light Commercial Bus and Van (LCBV) segment and thus has to fight a tough battle against the likes (Hyundai Grand Starex, Toyota Hiace). Ford knows this and that’s why it has given Transit the features that would help it win. Following are some of those top features:

Aisle seating arrangement

Ford has done an incredible job in utilising the interior space in the Transit. Since it’s a big commercial van and can accommodate 15 people (including the driver), Ford wanted to make sure that all of the occupants remain comfortable. That’s why the seating arrangement in the Transit is such that people wouldn’t have to climb over rows of other passengers find a seat in the back. The front row to the 4th-row seats features a 1+2 seating arrangement and the fifth row has a 4-person bench-type seat.

High interior ceiling

Ford has thought everything through. Passengers wouldn’t need to bend after climbing in the Transit because it features a high interior ceiling. There’s more than enough room for people to stand up and walk to their respective seats without worrying about banging their heads in the ceiling.

These are some healthy figures for a van of this size. Mated to this engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox which is an integrated part of the dashboard saving up space in the front.

What about Transit’s exterior?
