GAC Motor PH updates Emzoom lineup with new Touring trim

MANILA: GAC Motor Philippines has updated its Emzoom lineup by swapping out the mid-spec GB variant for the new Touring trim.

Per the Astara-led Chinese car brand, the new GAC Emzoom Touring offers a sportier design than its predecessor thanks to the addition of the R-Style body kit, center-mounted twin exhaust pipes, and a “Touring” badge.

Available colors include Graphene Grey, Moonlight Grey, Ivory White, and Superstar Silver.

“The new and dynamic look of the Emzoom Touring closely mirrors the premium aesthetics of the top-of-the-line R-Style,” the company said in a press release.

Notably, the GAC Emzoom Touring gets a set of LED lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, flush door handles, 18-inch wheels shod in 225/55 series tires, and rear fog lights.

Inside, would-be owners are greeted by a cabin decorated with blue and black hues, a multi-functional leather steering wheel, and seats with polyvinyl chloride leather upholstery.

Other notable features include its seven-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch multi-functional infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and automatic air conditioning system with PM 1.0 air filter.

Powering the GAC Emzoom Touring is the familiar 1.5-liter TGDI engine paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The setup produces 174 horses with 270 Newton-meters of pulling power.

Safety-wise, it has features like cruise control, a rear view camera, passive entry and passive start, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill start hold control, hill descent control, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

“GAC Motor Philippines is giving Filipinos more reasons to love the all-star Emzoom subcompact crossover with the introduction of the Emzoom Touring, which replaces the Emzoom GB. GAC Motor Philippines will retain the GB price tag for the Emzoom Touring, which will set customers back some P1.098 million. The variant comes with an after sales warranty for the first five years or 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

GAC Emzoom milestones

GAC Motor Philippines celebrated a significant milestone for the Emzoom last June.

The said nameplate has sold 1,500 units a year after its launch.

Further, the GAC Emzoom has been awarded a five-star rating by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries, attesting to the crossover’s safety.

Lastly, the said model was ranked number one overall in the 2024 China Automobile Quality Ranking for the first half of 2024.

This ranking for compact sport utility vehicles evaluates various models across five dimensions: defect complaints, defect risks, reliability, safety, and environmental performance.

“The quality ranking is derived from the China Automobile Quality Network’s extensive data platform and takes into account environmental performance, in alignment with the Guidelines for Safety Risk Assessment and Risk Control of Automobile Products and the Guidelines for Judging Serious Safety Performance of Household Automobile Products, both issued and enforced by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration,” GAC Motor Philippines explained.
