GIIAS 2024: Hyundai to launch ‘electrified’ Kona to Indonesian market
Another EV set to be revealed alongside electrified crossover
MANILA: PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (PT HMID) is set to officially reveal the all-new Kona Electric at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024.

All three vehicles have the vehicle-to-load capability.The electrified model is said to be the first automotive offering in Indonesia that comes with batteries produced in its host country as the power supplies are made by PT Hyundai Energy Indonesia (HEI) and battery cells from PT Hyundai LG Indonesia (HLI) Green Power.
In addition, the electric vehicle (EV) features the Hyundai Bluelink advanced connectivity technology that allows users to perform over-the-air (OTA) software updates and offers a 360-degree view of the vehicle even when turned off.
Inside, the soon-to-be-revealed offering has a unified speedometer cluster with AVNT (Audio, Video, Navigation, Telematics) display and a premium sound system.
The all-new Hyundai Kona Electric has an emission-free range of more than 600 kilometers and offers vehicle-to-load capability — just like the Ioniq 5 and 6 models.
Aside from the Kona Electric, Hyundai shall also launch another EV at the event.
Eventgoers can also expect engaging activities at the Hyundai display booth and test drive area. Additionally, Hyundai will provide an exclusive lounge for visitors waiting for their test drive sessions.
“Not only the test drive area outside, Hyundai also provides a test ride area inside the Hyundai booth to experience the excitement of being a passenger in the all-new Kona Electric. For visitors interested in trading in their vehicles, Hyundai provides a convenient one-stop shopping experience with the Trade-In Reception. This program is available to both Hyundai customers and owners of other vehicle brands,” the Korean automaker’s Indonesian arm said in a statement.
