HARI’s sales increased by 12.5% in Q1 of 2019
MANILA: The official distributor of the Hyundai commercial vehicles and passenger cars in the Philippines, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) has informed that it’s sales count of the Q1 of 2019 is 9,949 units.
This means the company's sales have shown an increment of around 12.5 percent year-on-year. In March, the carmaker has sold 3,412 units, that's up to 6 percent increment compared to the same period last year.
Coming to the LCV segment, it is the Kona subcompact crossover which marks the main difference. The vehicle accounts for around a quarter of the manufacturer’s total LCV sales count. Since it’s launch in mid-2018, around 1,000 units of Kona have been sold.
However, it is not enough to be the segment’s top-selling vehicle, the position, which is being reigned by H-100 that leads the LCV segment with 44 percent of sales count.
On the other hand, the Hyundai Accent is still the HARI’s top-selling passenger car. Another nameplate called Reina also contributed to the sales count in this segment by having a 16 percent share in the total vehicle sales.
The president and CEO of HARI, Maria Fe Perez-Agudo said, “HARI sustained its growth momentum in the first quarter driven by the successful introduction of fresh and innovative models such as the Reina at the start of the year and a more positive buying sentiment from consumers.
We are well-poised to continue this upward trend over the next three quarters as we recently unveiled pioneering vehicles at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).”
As mentioned, HARI has a total sales count of 9,949 units in the Q1 of 2019. It consists of 239 commercial vehicles, 5,404 passenger cars, and 4,306 light commercial vehicles.
The Accent is bossing the overall car sales with 3,551 units, while the H-100 stands next to it with 1,901 units sold. After that comes Reina with a sales count of 1,576 units, followed by 1,043 units of Kona.
