Honda Accord 2016 Launched in the Philippines
MANILA: The much awaited executive sedan from the stable of Honda finally lands on the shores of the Philippines. The new and refreshed Accord 2016 has been launched and now it accounts for a more seductive appeal. Honda Car Philippines made the announcement official today that the new Accord will be available at all the dealership outlets across the country from today (17th May 2016).
Honda has been really active in the recent past in the Philippines as it introduced the all-new Civic last month and now with the aim to enhance its sales and growth in the country, it has presented a new look of Accord 2016. The executive sedan looks ravishing from the outside while maintaining its luxury quotient from inside. Let’s dig in a little deep to know more about the sedan.
With a bolder and upgraded look, the new Accord now features a sharply contoured hood in addition to the thick chrome slat with brand’s emblem at the centre and the brand’s Honda Signature LED lighting, which includes LED headlamps with DRLs, Active Cornering Light and Multi-projector fog lamps with LEDs. The front fascia is now pronounced than ever and is capable of turning an array of heads along the way. The rear profile has few changes as well, which can be accounted by the revised wrap-around LED tail lights and bumper.
Talking about its interior, it is pretty much the same as the previous model while the main highlight is its exclusive piano black trimming throughout the cabin. The two information screens have been kept intact while they have been upgraded to work in tandem with some special features like hands-free phone and audio streaming. The navigation system comes as a standard on both the variants, which works well with 7-inch touch screen.
Under the hood, there aren’t any changes and the brand has retained its 3.5-litre i-VTEC V6 engine that can churn out a max power of 281 PS. Paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters, the sedan is capable to deliver a significant fuel economy. In addition to this, there is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine that is good enough for 175 PS and is mingled to a five-speed automatic transmission system. The low power engine also comes with paddle shifters. Cruise control and Remote Engine Start Function come as standard on both the variants on offer while the new Accord is loaded with an exclusive feature that can switch on the Dual-zone climate control from the outside allowing the sedan’s cabin to cool even before you enter it.
To make it a part of your garage you need to loosen your pocket by PhP 1,788,000 for the base variant while the top variant is priced at PhP 2,288,000.
