Honda Cars PH sells more than 10K 2nd-gen BR-V units since introduction

MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) has sold more than 10,000 units of its second-generation BR-V multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) since it was launched in November 2022.

Per the local wing of the Japanese carmaker, the said figure reflected a 20-percent increase in the nameplate’s overall sales.

The said information was disclosed at the launch of the refreshed Honda City Hatchback not too long ago.

“BR-V is still the best-selling model in the Honda lineup. It’s perfect for Filipino families — value for money — and same time the overall package of the car, serves the Filipino family,” HCPI Sales Division General Manager Aizza Te Tan-Flores shared to Zigwheels Philippines.

It’s not surprising to see why many car buyers choose the Honda BR-V. We were able to spend some time with the MPV’s V trim, and we were impressed by how functional and spacious the seven-seater is as well as how fun it was to drive.

The range-topping Honda BR-V VX CVT variant is equipped with a four-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine equipped with Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control — aka VTEC — technology. It is mated to a continuously variable transmission and can dish out some 119 horsepower with 145 Newton-meters of torque.

Outside, it dons full LED headlamps, LED fog lights, and LED taillamp, and an LED high-mount stop lamp. It also wears a gloss black grille, chrome door handles, power-folding side mirrors, a tailgate spoiler, silver-painted side sill garnishes, a silver bumper skid garnish, and a pair of roof rails.

It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin gets a 4.2-inch instrument cluster complemented by a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Occupants are greeted with leather seats, while the driver gets to enjoy a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an armrest swathed in a similar material, and gear shifter also finished in leather.

Notable features include an automatic air conditioning system to keep the passengers cool during both short and long trips.

In terms of safety, the top-spec Honda BR-V is equipped with the Honda Sensing which includes technologies like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, auto high beam, and lead car departure notification.

The Honda BR-V is currently priced from P1.09 million-P1.39 million.
