Honda HR-V now available with Honda Sensing Suite
MANILA: Last year, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. debuted the new generation HR-V crossover. This year, the HR-V is getting an upgrade (again) in terms of safety and driver-assist features.
Just to refresh your memory, the local version of the Honda HR-V comes in two variants—the RS Navi CVT and the 1.8 E CVT. The HR-V RS Navi CVT is priced at Php 1.508 million and it features an RS badge and RS design front grille, front bumper, and side sill garnish. It also gets LED fog lamps, 17" RS design black alloy wheels, 7" infotainment system with Navigation, leather seats and matching leather steering wheel, and dark chrome door handles.
The HR-V 1.8 E CVT, on the other hand, is priced at Php 1.295 million and features full LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps, dark chrome front grille and black front bumper, 17" sport black alloy wheels; shark-fin antenna, and 7" infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatible.
For this year, the US-spec HR-V gets a Honda Sensing upgrade. Honda Sensing is the marketing brand of Honda’s suite of safety and driver-assist technologies design to alert the driver of things that can easily be overlooked while driving.
Honda Sensing Suite includes -
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
- Honda LaneWatch that displays live video on your Display Audio Touch-Screen via a camera on the passenger-side mirror any time you signal right
Also included in the Honda Sensing suite are passive safety features like Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, a multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines, airbags with rollover sensor, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), and brake assist.
All these techs earned the Honda HR-V the 2019 Best SUV Brand from U.S. News & World Report; a 5-star rating on Overall Vehicle crash safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The bigger question now is, is the updated Honda HR-V with Honda Sensing be available in our shores too?
