MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company and Hilton Grand Vacations Asia Pacific and Hawaii (HGV) are collaborating to provide premium electric mobility services in major tourist destinations in Hawaii. 

Through the said collaboration, the two companies are set to establish programs, which will allow HGV’s clients to use Hyundai electric vehicles (EVs) while visiting the Aloha State.

One of the upcoming initiatives under the said collaboration, which will provide the aforementioned EV mobility service, is the “Hyundai Passport in Kona.” As per the Seoul-based car maker, it will launch sometime summer of 2024 (July-August).

For the Korean car brand, the program can provide a gauge which can determine public interest in fully electric cars. It will also serve to further promote Hyundai and its lineup of EV models.

For HGV, meanwhile, the collaborative program will be able to give a convenient, but also environmentally-friendly means of transport to its customers.

“Our collaboration with Hilton Grand Vacations is surely a part of our efforts to provide a seamless EV experience to our customers,”  Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company Yoo Seok Chung said.

“This relationship will create new opportunities to introduce Hyundai’s remarkable electric vehicles to eco-conscious travelers in Hawaii,” Chung added.

Previously, Hyundai Mobility Japan (HMJ), the South Korean carmaker’s Japanese arm, introduced the Hyundai Passport initiative in Oahu, Hawaii. Hyundai said HMJ chose the location due to the rise of EV usage all across the island state.
