The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the second model in Hyundai's all-electric lineup brand, Ioniq. It fully utilizes the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture, providing 800V ultra-fast charging capabilities for a 10% to 80% charge in just 18 minutes and a roomy interior.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is characterized by clean lines and a pure aerodynamic form that Hyundai designers refer to as “Emotional Efficiency.” It was inspired by Hyundai's Prophecy EV Concept. A new generation of electric mobility is embodied by the Hyundai Ioniq 6's electrified streamliner typology and thoughtful cocoon-like interior, and the overall design concept of “Ethical Uniqueness” underlines Hyundai's customer-focused commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 showcases ethical and innovative design through the use of sustainable materials and high energy efficiency. The interior space and exterior form were developed simultaneously since the design was human-centric from the beginning. Efforts were made to maximize the interior space, stretching it at the front and rear.
One of the most aerodynamic and energy-efficient electric vehicles on the global market, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has an extremely low drag coefficient of just 0.21. The WLTP-rated range of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 on a single charge is 614km. The WLTP-rated energy consumption of the standard 2WD model with 18-inch tires is 13.9kWh/100km.
Among the many features of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 are Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, driver assistance systems, and advanced connectivity with over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The spacious and ergonomic cabin makes the most of the 2,950mm wheelbase. It features Electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD), Dual Color Ambient Lighting, Speed Sync Lighting, and EV Performance Tune-up, improving the electric mobility experience.
Hyundai Design Center Executive Vice President and Head SangYup Lee was also awarded as the 2023 World Car Person of the Year by the World Car Awards jury for his significant role in the most remarkable and cutting-edge concept and production cars unveiled in 2022, including the Hyundai Ioniq 6, the all-new Hyundai Kona, and the Hyundai N Vision 74 rolling lab.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has also received accolades in the previous months, including New Car of the Year from Le Guide de l'auto and Saloon of the Year from the 2023 GQ Car Awards. Furthermore, it received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and was chosen as the “Best in Class” large family car.
The achievements of the Ioniq brand this year will bolster Hyundai Motor's efforts to advance its electrification strategy and establish itself as the leading electric vehicle manufacturer worldwide. Hyundai Motor aims to increase annual global battery electric vehicle sales to 1.87 million units by 2030 by launching 17 new battery electric vehicle models, including luxury brand Genesis models.
