Hyundai Ioniq Electric wins in C! Magazine Awards

MANILA: At the virtual staging of the C! Magazine Awards, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric took the top spot of the newest category: electric vehicles (EV). This follows the global pattern for sustainable mobility, and adds recognitions that Ioniq has acquired worldwide.

At the C! Awards, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric was able to take the lead among other EVs from Jaguar, Porsche, and Chery.

HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said, “We are happy that C! has added sustainable mobility to its honored criteria of affordability and usability. Hyundai remains at the forefront of accelerating the world’s transition toward clean and sustainable mobility, introducing a new way of living and better journeys in the new normal. With Ioniq, affordability, sustainability, and style are combined to create cars that meet all our needs, with no compromise.”

The Hyundai Ioniq Electric, which was shown during the 2019 Manila International Autoshow, takes pride in intelligent aerodynamics, zero emissions, and it also sets the benchmark in electric drive technology.

It has an estimated range of more than 373 kilometers, and a high-power, high-efficiency permanent magnet-type electric motor that generates a power output of 134hp. Inside, the Ioniq has a 357-liter luggage capacity, six airbags, electronic gear shift, drive mode selector, and multimedia information display.

During the simple digital awarding ceremony, C! President, Founding Editor, and Editorial Director Kevin C. Limjoco explained the dedication of the publication to uphold its instrumented testing methods and compliance with current safety guidelines.

Limjoco said, “This year and like every year before it, consumers are the king. Consumers have a lot more choices… We know what we want to buy and what’s important to us.”

Last August, Hyundai introduced the Ioniq as the new designated EV brand of Hyundai, which carries the vision, “You don’t drive electric. You live electric.”

Ioniq supports the dedication of the company toward clean mobility and upholds its current transformation as a smart mobility solution provider.

It also has a goal of providing customer-centered EV experiences focused on connected lifestyle solutions, which are in accordance with the vision of Hyundai — “Progress for Humanity.”

Under Ioniq, Hyundai Motor aims to launch three new designated EV models during the next four years with more advanced models such as the Ioniq 7 (a large SUV), the Ioniq 6 (a sedan), and the Ioniq 5 (a mid-sized CUV).

Agudo concluded, “With our full line-up of Hybrid/EV vehicles that fuse high-performance, technology and safety in bold packages, this award further inspires us to put Hyundai at the forefront of this exciting and innovative space. We believe that this is the future of the auto industry and Hyundai is set to take the next big step.”
