Hyundai Makati opens its doors and readies charging station for EVs

MANILA: With the debut of Hyundai Makati, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc (HMPH) commemorates three significant achievements.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How is Hyundai Makati preparing for EVs?

Hyundai Makati is officially the first of five authorized EV dealers in the country. It is equipped with a 22KW AC Charger and a 50KW DC Charger, the latter enabling battery capacity to reach 80% from 20% in as fast as 30 minutes.
  • What is the corporate look that Hyundai Makati bears?

Adopted worldwide across all markets, the Hyundai Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) is more than just adherence to the brand’s new color scheme, rather an evolution towards a more customer-centric retail experience.
  • Where is Hyundai Makati located?

It is located in the automotive strip of Chino Roces Avenue Extension, which is a few meters from EDSA and within the said city's Central Business District.
  • It has a showroom measuring 280 square meters that can hold up to five vehicle displays and a service area measuring 1,167 square meters with six work bays and two work bays specifically designated for electric vehicles. It is located in the automotive strip of Chino Roces Avenue Extension, which is a few meters from EDSA and within the said city's Central Business District.

This is not only the first dealership for the brand owned by the Gateway Group; it is also the first authorized retailer and service provider for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the nation as well as the first location in Asia Pacific to use the updated Hyundai Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) 2.0.

    The Gateway Group

Founded in Cebu in August 2004, the Gateway Group has become the largest multi-brand dealer group in the Philippines. To date, it manages 21 automotive brands with around one hundred six full dealerships nationwide led by their Chairman, Markane Goho, President, Raymund Basubas, and Executive Vice President, Michael Goho.

“Now, Hyundai is certainly a reputable brand which has certainly stood the test of time, and we have very much enthused to jumpstart this venture and journey. The Hyundai brand has captured the hearts of many Filipinos years ago and now with this economy thriving, with the market high in demand, we are eager to capitalize on all opportunities. We want to take the Hyundai brand back to where it rightfully belongs, and soar even higher than before,” Michael Goho expressed.

    Hyundai Makati

Hyundai Makati will be the first under Gateway’s tutelage with several others in the pipeline. Its area is populated by several prestigious subdivisions, malls, and commercial establishments that amass at least 10,000 existing owners. The group took on the opportunity to meet the needs of this customer base and also give intenders access to the new generation of Hyundai models, namely the Creta, Staria, Tucson and the New Stargazer.

First of five Hyundai EV dealerships

Hyundai Motor plans to offer options and facilitate society's transition to an electric lifestyle as part of its commitment to playing a crucial role in addressing the cry for sustainability. This begins with the company's specialized line of electric vehicles (EVs), which is led by its IONIQ 5 flagship model. This Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) has earned a number of significant international honors, such as World Automobile of The Year (WCOTY). There are two versions offered to Filipinos: the Long Range 2WD retails for P3.698 million and the Standard Range 2WD for P3.068 million. There are four color choices namely, Phantom Black Pearl, Cyber Gray Metallic, Atlas White, and Gravity Gold, the only one in matte finish.

Moreover, the necessary after sales support, from facility readiness all the way to the training of certified technicians, also form part of this undertaking. Hyundai Makati is officially the first of five authorized EV dealers in the country. It is equipped with a 22KW AC Charger and a 50KW DC Charger, the latter enabling battery capacity to reach 80% from 20% in as fast as 30 minutes. The rest this 2023 are Alabang, Cebu North, Pampanga, Pasig. All shall be prepared for “recovery and repair”. Each carries specialized Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) service tools and equipment and standard safety aids.

Hyundai Makati, First in Asia Pacific with GDSI 2.0 Standard

Adopted worldwide across all markets, the Hyundai Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) is more than just adherence to the brand’s new color scheme, rather an evolution towards a more customer-centric retail experience. From “Modern Premium” to “Richness in Simplicity”, the 2.0 version aims to curate a refined environment where customers will better enjoy the showroom while discovering the latest Hyundai vehicles without feeling pressure. These can be sensed through various “experience segments”:

    • Warm and inviting lounge to welcome guests to the area.
    • Free and unrestricted car displays so that guests can browse and feel comfortable.
    • Visitors can check the many interior and exterior customizations at an interactive configuration desk.
    • Dedicated area where guests can have a closer look at the featured or themed car.
    • Consultation spaces that are airy and tidy to help clients feel more relaxed.

These have been carefully incorporated unto Hyundai Makati, the first to do so in Asia Pacific, and 12 of the 39 existing dealerships following suit by the fourth quarter.
