Hyundai Motor PH partners with Aboitiz Foundation for ‘Dream Green’ project

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has partnered with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated (RAFI) for the “Dream Green” project.

The said initiative — Hyundai’s local wing noted — aims to plant some 5,000 mangroves in Barangay Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas by the end of 2024. The said tree growing project follows the company’s global vision, “Progress for Humanity”, which drives the brand to create meaningful change through various initiatives that enrich lives and sustain the environment.

Present during the event was HMPH President Jiho Son, HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete, and HMPH Chief Financial Officer Hongshik Chin.

Also in attendance was RAFI President and Chief Executive Officer Amaya Cristina Fansler and RAFI Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager Mariefe del Mundo.

Joining the aforementioned executives last November 29 were members of the Samahan ng mga Mandaragat sa Sulok, Lumaniag Barangay Chairman Edgar Johnson, as well as representatives from the Provincial Government Environmental and Natural Resources Office, and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office.

“Today is just one of the many examples of how our vision extends far beyond being an automotive company. We feel a strong responsibility to contribute to a more sustainable future for all. This belief is what inspired HMPH to take part in this project where we aim to plant 5,000 mangroves today as part of 55,000 trees by 2028 in our roadmap. We look forward to achieving this goal alongside the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation,” Son noted.
