Hyundai Motor PH sends 9 scholars to South Korea for advanced automotive training
Student’s trained in EV safety and advanced driver-assist systems
MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) has recently sent a total of nine students to South Korea.

The first batch of Hyundai Accelerate scholars is set to graduate in November 2024.The said students were selected from 40 students from the Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) who underwent an eight-month practical automotive course and four months of on-the-job training under the Hyundai Accelerate Program.
The nine who had the chance to visit Hyundai’s home country were the top-performing students in the aforementioned program. Specifically, they were sent to the Hyundai Global Learning Center in Cheonan, South Korea, to learn about electric vehicle safety and advanced driver-assist systems.
Per (HMPH), the program in its entirety seeks to prepare the automotive technicians of tomorrow.
“HMPH is proud to empower future automotive technicians through Hyundai Accelerate. We believe this program represents our vision, which is ‘Progress for Humanity,’ as well as our commitment to shaping the next generation of skilled automotive professionals in the Philippines,” HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete said.
“We are confident that this program will equip our students with the skills to set them apart in the field. As we bridge the gap between the automotive industry and education, HMPH is thrilled to be a partner for Filipinos, be it on the road, or in the classroom,” Capacete added.
According to the South Korean marque’s local arm, the first batch of Hyundai Accelerate scholars will be graduating in November 2024. The company likewise expressed its intentions to continue the Hyundai Accelerate Program in 2025.
To note, the initiative was made possible through a partnership with DBTI, the City Government of Pasig, the Quezon City Government, and the Department of Education Taguig City and Pateros.
