KEY TAKEAWAYS
What were the four categories of the technologies evaluated for the JD Power US Tech Experience Index study?
The study evaluated 35 technologies that are categorized into four groups: convenience, emerging automation, energy and sustainability, and infotainment and connectivity. How many car owners were surveyed for the study?
The TXI study surveyed 84,165 owners of 2022 model-year vehicles after 90 days of ownership to see how much they liked the technologies and how many issues they ran into when using them.“Delivering advanced technology solutions to meet our customers’ needs is at the heart of our product development and dealer training strategies. The key is making these innovative features user friendly and offering them to a wide range of customers. We also provide extensive customer education at our dealerships to ensure consumers get the best experience with their vehicles,” Hyundai Motor North America Product Planning Director Ricky Lao stated.
The TXI Innovation Index provides a single measure that includes both the market depth of advanced technologies and customer perceptions of how well these innovations are implemented across a brand. Both metrics are equally significant since consumers want new technology that also functions efficiently. Each automotive brand is measured on a 1,000-point scale on how well they market new technologies. The study evaluates 35 technologies that are categorized into four groups: convenience, emerging automation, energy and sustainability, and infotainment and connectivity.
The TXI study also surveyed 84,165 owners of 2022 model-year vehicles after 90 days of ownership to see how much they liked the technologies and how many issues they ran into when using them.
By evaluating how successfully each car brand introduces new technologies to the market, the US TXI Study complements the annual JD Power US Initial Quality Study (IQS) and the JD Power US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study.
