Jaguar launches F-Pace 90th Anniversary Edition
This is also the brand’s last hurrah before it becomes a luxury electric carmaker.
MANILA: Jaguar celebrates its 90th year with the release of the new F-Pace 90th Anniversary Edition trim.
The 90th Anniversary Edition trim represents a grand salute to the British car brand’s 90 years of pioneering design, performance, and innovation. The special edition version is likewise a send-off to the F-Pace before the brand transforms into a luxury electric car brand next year.
The special version of the F-Pace boasts subtle but choice styling features. On the outside, the vehicle has several diamond-turned alloy wheel options, 90th Anniversary badging, a panoramic sunroof, and privacy glass. Jaguar, meanwhile, provided its interior with ebony headliners, supportive sport seats with contrast stitching, and decorative aluminum trim pieces.
According to the brand, the 90th Anniversary Edition trim package may be applied to all F-Pace variants. To this end, it has a variety of available powertrains, including a mild hybrid and a plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV).
The PHEV version features an all-electric driving range of 64 kilometers, as determined by the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). It likewise has a fast DC charging capability, which allows it to top up its battery from zero to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.
For the P400e models, the 90th Anniversary Edition’s PHEV powertrain can output a total of 398 horsepower and 640 Newton Meters of torque.
Jaguar further noted the presence of adaptive dynamic dampers on the F-Pace. This feature is likewise present on the special edition model and allows users to customize the vehicle’s steering weight, throttle sensitivity, and gearshift points.
As per the Coventry-based carmaker, the F-Pace 90th Anniversary Edition is a swansong for the nameplate and the brand’s line of iconic internal combustion engines. As mentioned, the brand is set to transition to fully electric powertrains as 2025 rolls in.
The venerable but well-storied XK inline-six engine is particularly notable, as it has carried the brand into various motorsport victories. Likewise worth mentioning is the 5.0-liter V8 launched in 2009, of which a supercharged 575-horsepower version graces the high-performance F-Pace SVR 575 Edition.
As a side note, the F-Pace is the brand’s first-ever sports utility vehicle (SUV) model. It is also one of the brand’s most successful vehicles ever, with over 328,000 examples made at the Solihull production facility in the UK.
Jaguar's transition to EVs also represents its “Reimagine Strategy,” in which modern luxury, electrification, and sustainability take center stage.
