Check Out the Upgraded Discovery Sport 2017
MANILA: Great news for the Filipino off-roaders and adventurers as the Tata-owned brand Jaguar Land Rover has decided to update their compact Sports Utility Vehicle, Discovery Sport for the 2017 model. SUVs have been one of the major highlights this year as we have seen plenty of these vehicles being unveiled by almost all the major names in automotive manufacturing. Being the masters at creating some of the most iconic and revolutionary SUVs in existence, it would’ve been totally unfair if the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport didn’t have anything new to offer. Although the updates in the vehicle are minuscule, they would certainly be enough to entice Land Rover fans till the next update.
Making its first appearance in 2014, the Discovery Sport marks the third generation of the manufacturer’s iconic compact SUV model, the Land Rover Freelander. The third-gen model was rebranded and displayed at the 2014 New York International Auto Show where it received a warm welcome from both critics and audiences. Since then, this SUV has already seen a lot of upgrades. With the 2017 model, the manufacturers have decided to focus more on revamping the interiors, rather than the car’s looks. But, that also doesn’t mean that you get to drive the same old car with new interiors. The Discovery Sport 2017 will be offered with a new exterior body kit, that adds new bumpers on the front and rear with dual exhausts fitted inside the rear bumper. This along with the stunning 20-inch alloys do a great job of putting the ‘Sports’ namesake to the vehicle and makes the vehicle stand out from its precursor.
Like already mentioned, the major changes in the new Land Rover Discovery Sport are the upgraded interiors that feel futuristic and luxurious than ever before. The most obvious looking change is the presence of a ‘space age’ esque center console that seems like it was moulded inside the dash. Its InControl Touch Pro infotainment system is powered by an Intel quad-core processor making it as efficient as a personal computer or an expensive smartphone. The major highlight is the 10.2-inch touch screen panel that provides important information to the driver along with weather reports and maps in high definition. The added features apart from the old ones are lane assist, driver drowsiness warning, and speed sign detection. It is still not clear when the 2017 model will show up in the Philippines. But looking at the high demand for the Discovery model, there are really strong chances of its release by the next year.
