Let’s make way for UTV Mini Ford Raptor, the luxury off roader
MANILA: Ford Raptor is great for sprinting through rough terrain at speed, from gravel roads to towering dunes, in air-conditioned comfort. On the other hand, performance UTVs (utility terrain vehicles)—otherwise known as side-by-sides, give an exemplary performance for an off-road experience. The luxury of air-conditioning makes it very attractive to off-roaders and normal truck buyers alike. One downside of a Raptor though is the weight and huge dimensions that lead to a loss of buoyancy.
Knine Racing just wanted to bridge that gap and by combining the best of both worlds- UTV and Ford Raptor, it brings to us – the Mini Raptor.
The Knine Mini Raptor is built atop a Can-Am Maverick X3, but styling is undoubtedly of Ford Raptor.
Knine Racing focuses extensively on this most recent build. Pictures and videos demonstrate the build quality behind the creation. Few videos also demonstrate how powerful the smaller truck is on the trail, largely due to reduced weight of under 2,500 pounds. Compare that to the Raptor's 5,500-pound hefty machine, it seems reasonable for Knine Racing to claim that their creation will smoke a 600+hp full-size truck to 100 mph.
Knine's has incorporated a compact and sealed cabin with an enhanced air conditioning system. Also featuring the cabin is an advanced sound proof system that allows you to have zero disturbance on your voyage. The cabin also has a dirt prevention system, which is one of its kind. If we break down the overhauling of Mini Raptor, we see a lot is influenced by Ford Raptor.
Designed aggressively, the wide fenders allow a smooth ride on upsized mud-terrains. Overall, its look can be described as a shrunk Raptor with the most noticeable difference being the short wheelbase that aids agility and dexterity.
Engine choices are set for customer’s will, but the Can-Am provided has also a vital role to play. Suspension options offered include a Fox 2.0 or 3.0.
One of the most powerful variants of Maverick X3 is acclaimed to have a 195-horsepower turbocharged Rotax engine. No wonder, the Mini Raptor powertrain designs are highly influenced by it. The four-wheeling suspension offers a complete package of comfort and a convenient ride.
Price is not explicitly listed by Knine anywhere online, but on the calculation, we assume that with all the fabrication and parts production, this hefty toy is not going to be cheap. We wait for the further unwrapping of details to assess how much the kit will cost to the Philippines customers.
