Maxus G50 showcases capabilities, features in Subic media drive
MANILA: Members of the Philippine motoring media, along with content creators, took part in a ride-and-drive event of the Maxus G50 compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) on a trip from Manila to Subic last March 29 to April 1. The event highlighted the G50's main features and competitive edge as experienced by actual owners — families and entrepreneurs searching for an MPV that works well in any situation, be it as a daily transporter or for business and leisure trips with enough space and power to bring along the entire family.

Pricing ranges from P948,000 to P1.338 million. The event was meticulously planned to allow the participants to experience the G50 Premium, G50 Elite, G50 Pro, and the newest addition to the lineup, the G50 Comfort, in different road conditions (city and country roads, highways and tollways), as well as the MPV's safety features and amenities in a special controlled driving area away from public roads.
The G50's safety features and eight-passenger seating capacity, along with the power and fuel efficiency of the turbocharged gasoline engine were showcased during the drive to Subic. Along the meandering country roads, the diverse road conditions allowed the G50 to showcase its capabilities like cruise control, infotainment, and radio, as well as easy maneuverability and stability, especially during turning.
The G50 Comfort variant features a versatile seating configuration and luggage room, exhibiting its convenience and practicality for both family and corporate use. Its overall look is both stylish and functional. It comes standard with safety features such as electronic stabilization program (ESP) and rear parking sensors.
Meanwhile, the G50 Pro gives focus on driver comfort and convenience. It comes with a multifunction leather steering wheel, rear camera, keyless entry and push start, electronic parking brake with auto hold, cruise control, and infotainment radio with eight-inch touchscreen.
The G50 Elite comes with even more great features for drivers and passengers, including automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, 12-inch touchscreen radio, and roof rail, enhancing the compact MPV's versatility, space, and overall functionality.
Meanwhile, the top variant, the G50 Premium, is equipped with power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, side airbags, a power folding exterior mirror, and LED headlamps. This variant offers more features and safety systems than any other MPV in its price range.
The Premium variant was used to demonstrate the G50's parking sensors, reverse, and 360-degree cameras during the driving activities held within the controlled area. The vehicle's stability and handling were proven while cornering and emergency braking with the Elite variant's electronic brake assist (EBA), ESP, and traction control. The Elite also demonstrated how easy it is to utilize the reverse camera and light steering in cramped spaces, both of which are useful features for moving G50s out of tight spaces and garages.
The Comfort's EBA was also spotlighted in maneuvers involving emergency braking while cornering, and the ESP demonstrated the variant's ease of control and stability when cornering — features that fully promote the safety and comfort of all occupants and family members, regardless of where they are seated in the vehicle.
With a starting price of P948,000, the G50 Comfort is the newest addition to the Maxus Philippines G50 lineup. It is the entry variant for hardworking Filipinos and their families to enjoy the G50's contemporary styling, power and efficiency, commodious interior, versatility, and safety in a complete compact MPV package but priced like a subcompact MPV. The SRPs for the other G50 variants are as follows: P1.179 million for the G50 Pro, P1.259 million for the G50 Elite, and P1.338 million for the full-feature G50 Premium.
Every purchase of the G50 comes with the 5 VehiCare package, which includes a five-year or 100,000-km warranty, five-year free 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, reliable parts management system and parts stock for up to five months, onsite and virtual product support with home service and pick-up and delivery, and maintenance costs that are 40% lower than the other brands for the first five years.
