MG One to be unveiled tomorrow

MANILA: MG Motor Philippines is set to reveal the One tomorrow.

The SAIC Motor Philippines-led firm’s posts over social media revealed the launch of the crossover to the country, which had its preview in December 2023 alongside the Cyberster (the brand’s electrified roadster).

Based on the invite sent to Zigwheels Philippines, the company shared the vehicle that is set to be unveiled is an “urban dweller” that offers both “bespoke innovations and distinct personality that a century in the making.”

While waiting for the official details about the soon-to-be-revealed offering, here are the MG One specifications overseas.

Similar to the other models that the brand recently introduced to the country, the MG One comes with a very youthful appeal, thanks to its dual front face, three-bar daytime running lights, a flowing contour, and twin aero rear spoilers.

More appointments that are appealing to the younger generation can be inside the cabin of the MG One. Occupants will be greeted by the vibrant dual color seats, sporty steering wheel, electronic gear shifter, and a panoramic sunroof.

Conveniences features such as push-start button, rear air-conditioning vents, lighted glove box, 60-40 folding rear seats, a 30-inch Wrap Around Triple (that include a 12.3-inch touchscreen), and a wireless charging dock might also be seen fitted in the Philippine-spec MG One.

Per MG, the MG One is the brand’s first-ever offering that is built on the all-in-one modular SAIC Motor Intelligent Global Architecture (SIGMA) platform.

In the Middle East market, the vehicle is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a continuous variable transmission that can deliver up to 181 horsepower and 285 Newton-meters of torque that lets the vehicle run 100 kilometers per hour from rest in 8.8 seconds.

The MG One also has a multi-link rear suspension that guarantees stable driving experience.
