MIAS 2019: Kia Stinger’s images leaked, to debut at the auto show

MANILA: Kia Stinger Ph-specs are out as a series of photos have been circulated on social media. It will be showcased at the country’s most anticipated motoring and driving event, the MIAS Wired (MIAS), which is currently at run at the World Trade Center in Metro Manila.

Starting from April 4, the arrival of Kia Stinger seems to be the most exciting news for the followers of the brand. Moreover, it is the first big thing after Ayala become the official distributor of Kia Philippines.

Now, the partnership between Columbian Autocar Corporation (the brand’s former distributor) and Ayala's AC Industrials looks promising as the official distributor of the brand in the country.

The aforementioned photos are of Stinger top-spec variant, namely 3.3L Twin Turbo V6 GT. Kia has added many of its signature styling equipment in the car including headlights, grille, etc. It is the Kia GT Concept of 2011,

from where the designing clues have been derived and implemented. Apparently, the manufacturer took around six years to reveal the production version at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show.

Coming to the specifications, the PH-spec Kia Stinger, comes with a 3.3-litre V6 engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 370 hp. It can speed up form 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds and hit the top speed of 270 kmph. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Globally, it has two other engine versions - 2.0-litre gasoline turbo direct injection engine and 2.2-liter CRDI turbodiesel, there is no mention in the spec-sheet whether these will come to the Philippines or not.

The Kia Stinger GT specs sheet includes features like - projector LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, quad tailpipes, seven airbags, push start, traction control, a Harman Kardon speaker system, stability control, etc.

Braking duties are done by the Brembo units present on both the front and rear. There is an electronic parking brake to assist these. The car will be launched in three color option including Hi Chroma Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Snow White Pearl.

Pricing details will be available once the car is unveiled at the Manila International Auto Show.
