Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV hailed as 2023 Family Green Car of the Year

MANILA: Even before the first unit has been delivered to a customer, accolades for the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV are already starting to pour in. As part of the 2023 Green Car Awards presented by Green Car Journal, the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was named the “2023 Family Green Car of the Year” and top segment performer. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the best-selling PHEV SUV in the world, has been acknowledged by the publication thrice in the last five years.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV received praise for combining environmental performance and family-friendly versatility in a popular crossover package. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was also commended by the publication for its distinctive combination of sport-utility functionality and plug-in electric vehicle efficiency. The Green Car Awards feature the best new eco-friendly model year vehicles in order to make purchasing decisions easier.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been the best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV in the world since it was introduced in 2017. First released in the US, the 2023 iteration features bold styling, modern vehicle architecture, state-of-the-art interior for seven passengers, and signature Mitsubishi SUV capability.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features the all-new Mitsubishi plug-in hybrid electric drivetrain that produces more power and torque and greater all-electric range. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV also features the latest version of Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV offers up to 61km of all-electric range and up to 675km of overall range. With the available DC fast-charging capability, the Outlander PHEV’s 20kWh battery pack can be charged to 80% in just 38 minutes.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV also comes with the brand’s new “Innovative Pedal” technology that enables near-one-pedal acceleration and deceleration, similar to full battery electric vehicles.

The S-AWC all-wheel drive system provides better vehicle control and boosts driver confidence. The twin-motor system that uses gasoline engine and front motor to drive the front wheels, together with the rear-mounted motor that drives the rear axle, jointly produce 248hp and 332lb-ft of torque.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV had seven drive modes, allowing it to conquer different weather and road conditions.

The release of the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is part of Mitsubishi Motor’s commitment to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050.

Pricing for the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ranges from $39,845 to $49,995 (approximately P2.3 million to P2.9 million). MMNA claims that the 2023 Outlander PHEV is the “best-equipped, most connected” Mitsubishi ever sold in the US.
