Mitsubishi Xpander club holds relief drive for ‘Ulysses’ victims
MANILA: Club Xpander Philippines (CXP), a group of Mitsubishi Xpander owners from all over the country, organized the CXP relief expedition for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan and Isabela.
Members from the two provinces gathered and repacked relief goods that were contributed by Metro Manila members. They had given away the donation to the residents of the areas who were severely affected by the flood.
Recognizing the club's good deeds and efforts, Sta. Maria, Isabela Mayor Hilario Pagauitan awarded a certificate of appreciation to CXP. The group had given the residents of the municipality some food, clothing, and other basic necessities, worth P60,000 in total.
CXP Founding Chairman of the Board Jimmy Virador acknowledged the empathetic cooperation of the club members in the donation drive. The group was supposed to have a Christmas fun run in Subic but due to the recent calamity, they decided to replace it with a relief drive instead. Virador stated, "The initial objective of this fund drive was to help our co-members and the people of Cagayan and Isabela who were badly affected by the typhoon. Since one of the group's slogans is 'CXP Cares,' the members never had second thoughts of helping or supporting one another."
"We realize that Club Xpander Philippines is more than just a car club or a group. We are a family that practices camaraderie, values, and brotherhood. As demonstrated by our members’ efforts, CXP is a car club that truly cares,” Virador added.
The spacious interior of the Mitsubishi Xpander played a huge contribution in the group’s relief activity as the members’ multi-purpose vehicle units were stuffed with several large boxes of clothing, mineral water, canned goods, noodles, coffee and other food items, and weighty sacks of rice.
