More 'sophisticated-looking' Mitsubishi Xpander Black Series makes PH debut

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially launched the Xpander Black Series today, November 4. The award-winning multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is given a more sophisticated look with new black accessory accents.

The front grille, Dynamic Shield garnish, lower bumper, fog light bezel, door mirrors, sill garnish, door handles, panel moldings, and 17-inch alloy wheels are all painted in black to match the overall characteristic of this new Xpander variant.

In a statement, MMPC President and Chief Executive Officer Takeshi Hara said, “The new Xpander Black Series is developed to rejuvenate excitement towards our number-one-selling MPV. The Xpander remains to be a very important product in our vehicle lineup and we at MMPC are geared to consistently enhance its offerings to cater to the various demands of the market. With the Black Series, the Xpander presents a more sophisticated look.”

Although it carries a new style and personality, the Xpander Black Series still comes with the MPV’s remarkable features including the spacious interior that can accommodate up to seven adults, the flexible seating configuration that gives more room for various cargo load, the reliable and fuel efficient 1.5-liter MIVEC engine, and a host of comfort, convenience, and safety features.

The Xpander nameplate has been widely credited for revolutionizing the MPV segment. It was first released in 2018 with a striking and dynamic design that defied the traditional conservative and utilitarian appearance of MPVs. The Xpander was the first Mitsubishi model to be equipped with the Dynamic Shield that symbolizes strength and confidence. Since then, the Xpander has been the segment’s best-selling model.

The Xpander Black Series comes in two colors: Quartz White Pearl and Black Jet Mica. It is priced at P1.138 million.
