Nissan X-Trail: Features to adore
After receiving its last update, the Nissan X-Trail entered into its third generation, ready to stand up against its rivals and impress its buyers. In order to help them make a faster and accurate decision, Nissan provided only two variants of this SUV in the Philippines - 2.0L 4x2 and 2.5L 4x4.
The Nissan X-Trail price for the former is Php 1.53 million whereas the latter would set you back by Php 1.82 million. While there are a number of other SUVs that are available in the same price bracket, what makes the X-Trail better than the rest and what are its features to adore? Let us find out.
On the outside
The latest Nissan X-Trail might not be the most intimidating SUV that we have in the market right now but it certainly is one handsome car. Its new design elements give it a modern and bold look. At the front, we have Nissan’s V-motion grille painted in chrome.
Then we have a pair of gorgeous projector LED headlamps that come with auto on/off and automatic levelling functions. They are complemented by the LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has a sporty and sharp design. The combination of all these elements gives the X-Trail a very athletic and assertive image.
Carrying that image forward, we have the new and attractive 19-inch dual tone alloy wheels and roof rails. Nissan has also added chrome door sills and chrome door handles for that extra bit of premium-ness. The rear end of the car also gets minor chrome touch on the back door license finisher.
The tail lights are two-piece combination lamps that are not the best looking in the segment but somehow get the job done. Oh yes, there is also a roof-mounted rear spoiler which we can’t forget. This enhances the sporty character of the car. Overall, the X-Trail is a good package in terms of style and design.
On the inside
Nissan has made every effort to make the interior of the X-Trail as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The interior here offers a good amount of space for all the occupants. All the materials used are of good quality and feel premium.
We have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, chrome door handles, etc. Of course, we get Nissan’s Zero Gravity inspired leather seats for utmost comfort. Talking more about comfort, the dual-zone automatic temperature control should keep you at your cool.
The rear air-con vents make sure that passengers at the back are also being looked after. For the entertainment needs, there is a 5-inch touch screen infotainment system that supports USB, AUX, Bluetooth and other connectivity options. The instrument cluster behind the steering wheel has a 5-inch advanced driver-assist colour display that tells you about all of your driving information like trip, fuel economy, caller ID, etc.
Under the hood
The Nissan X-Trail specs show two engine options - a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 144 PS of max power & 200 Nm of peak torque; and a more powerful 2.5-litre engine that has been tuned to churn out 171 PS of max power and 233 Nm of peak torque. There is no manual transmission option here and both the engines come mated to Nissan’s XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). You also get a 4x4 system if you go with the 2.5L model.
Safety features
Nissan likes to take safety as one of its top-most priorities and that’s why its vehicles are usually armed with Nissan Intelligent Mobility package. This includes various advanced safety features like around view monitor, hill descent control, forward emergency braking, forward collision warning system,
moving object detection, vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, blind spot warning system, and cross traffic alert. Apart from these, the X-Trail has some other safety nets as well like driver and front passenger SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ISOFIX child restraint seat and tether anchor, immobilizer, etc.
After going through all the aforementioned features, we hope that you would have understood how capable the X-Trail is and what are its top features. Nissan has done a good job in making this SUV one great package that is available in 5 different colour options - Orange, Pearl White, Diamond Black, Marine Blue Pearl, and Gun Metallic.
