PH customers can choose between Prestige, Premium variants of 2020 Audi Q5

MANILA: Audi Philippines carries two variants of the 2020 Audi Q5, namely the Q5 Prestige and the Q5 Premium, which are said to feature exceptional equipment and provide unparalleled segment value.

Both Q5 Premium and Q5 Prestige are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter TDI engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic transmission, and featuring Quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The variants are also equipped with a comprehensive range of assistance and infotainment systems.

The 2020 Audi Q5 Premium flaunts a rearview camera, parking assist plus, multi-configurable rear seating plus three-zone automatic climate control, comfort seats with memory function, aluminum roof rails, dynamic taillights and LED headlamps, and the Audi Drive Select.

Meanwhile, the top variant Q5 Prestige includes all the equipment of the Q5 Premium plus adaptive air suspension, which is a feature that the competitors of the Q5 do not have. Adaptive air suspension functions with the newly developed five-link suspension with damper control to allow settings that range between dynamics and comfort.

Five different damper settings exist, each setting chosen through the Audi Drive Select. Aside from altering the handling behavior and ride of the vehicle, the settings also adjust the ride height of the Q5 Prestige.

Another distinct feature of the Q5 Prestige is the completely digital Audi Virtual Cockpit, which utilizes vivid graphics on a high-resolution 12.3-inch screen to show various details that are pertinent to the driver.

The Audi Virtual Cockpit is matched with the MMI touch infotainment system that has an 8.3-inch display. It incorporates a touchpad into the rotary/push-button control and distinguishes handwritten gestures and entries utilized in functional mobile digital devices.

The system conveniently pairs with smartphones to enable the use of navigation apps such as Waze, music streaming from websites, and hands-free calls.

Among other luxury items that can be seen in the Q5 Prestige are a Bang and Olufsen 3D audio system and 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels.

Allowing the Q5 Prestige and Q5 Premium to undeniably appear like an Audi are its exceptional curves, sculptural Singleframe grille, LED headlights, and strongly undercut shoulder line.

Flowing lines, which can be seen from the side, establish a sporty appeal. As for the roofline, it is crowned by flat roof rails and slopes elegantly toward the rear.

In addition, the low greenhouse tapers inward while the D-pillars are angled like that of a coupe's.

Whether in Prestige or Premium variant, the USA Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the 2020 Audi Q5 with a “Top Safety Pick” status, as it earned a rating of “Good” in six crashworthiness evaluations and a “Superior” score in front crash prevention assessments.

The model also holds a maximum five-star rating from the European New Car Assessment Program, or Euro NCAP, for its superb performance in pedestrian protection, child safety, and occupant protection.

The 2020 Audi Q5 Prestige is priced at P3.89 million while the Q5 Premium sells for P3.49 million.
