The electrified sedan will be launched on January 16, 2024.What are the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan's powertrain options overseas?
The premium electrified sedan comes in single or dual permanently excited synchronous motors. On January 16, the Inchcape Philippines-led firm shall formally introduce the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan to the local market.
While specific details are expected to be shared closer to the launch date, here are some of the fully-electrified sedan’s specifications as seen overseas.
In the United States, the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan is around 5,265 millimeters (mm) long, 2,126 mm wide, and 1,511 mm tall with a nearly 3,211 mm wheelbase.
Powering the car in rear-wheel-drive format is its electric motor (single or dual permanently excited synchronous mill set-up) mated to a single-speed automatic transmission. — All variants come with a 10.4 kilowatt-hour capacity battery pack.
The first mill option can deliver as much as 329 horsepower and 565 Newton-meters of torque that allows the vehicle to reach 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in around six seconds. Meanwhile, the latter can dish out up 751 horses and 1,020 Nm of oomph — letting the EV run zero-100 kph in around four seconds.
The range of the base trim Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan is just above 563 kilometers (km) while the top-of-the-line AMG version, only up to 446 km.
Similar to the locally-available Mercedes-Benz EQA, EQB, and EQS, the EQS sedan sports a black panel with a company logo pattern aside from the huge emblem placed in the middle of the front fascia. It also features an all-LED illumination system just like in the rear.
The arriving model might be sitting on 20-, 21-, or 22-inch wheels. Zigwheels Philippines has a firm belief that the forthcoming vehicle could be rolling on 21-inch multi-spoke wheels just like the models released earlier.
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan retailed in foreign markets features a luxurious, driver-centric dashboard and intuitive touch interfaces.
To recall, the Three-Pointed Star marque’s local distributor fired its opening salvo in the premium EV market last year by bringing in the Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 Electric Art, EQB 250 Electric Art, EQE 300 Electric Art, and EQE 350+ AMG Line.
