SAIC Motor Philippines, Inc. Takes on Importer and Distributor Role for MG in the Philippines

MANILA - SAIC Motor Philippines, Inc. (SMP) has officially taken on the role of being the exclusive importer and distributor of Morris Garages (MG) products and services in the Philippines. This significant announcement was made during a special event held at The Fifth at Rockwell in Makati on July 19, 2023. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Pedro Garcia, Vice President of SAIC Motor Spain, and Oleg Son, MG Motor Design Director.

Felix Jiang, President of SAIC Motor Philippines, Inc., expressed his enthusiasm about this development, stating that it marks the beginning of a new era in the Philippine automotive industry. He emphasized SMP's commitment to bringing exceptional vehicles to the market and setting new standards for driving excellence.

     

During the event, SMP offered a sneak peek of three new fully-electric MG vehicles: the MG 4, MG ZS EV, and MG Marvel R. These exciting models are scheduled to be officially launched in the Philippine market by the fourth quarter of 2023. The introduction of these electric vehicles showcases SAIC's dedication to innovation, sustainability, and cutting-edge design.

Beyond importation and distribution, SMP will also manage MG's dealership network in the Philippines. Currently comprising 42 authorized dealer locations across the country, SMP plans to expand further by adding four more dealerships before the end of 2023. Their long-term goal is to have 60 MG dealerships operating in the Philippines by 2025.
