Subaru teases 2020 Outback ahead of its New York Auto Show debut

MANILA: The Japanese auto giant, Subaru has released a teaser photo of 2020 Outback ahead of its debut this year. The automaker will reveal the car at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.

The carmaker has not spoken a word about its styling, while it looks like 2020 Outback will come with the same mutant-wagon styling, which is the key to its huge success in the markets like the US in the previous years. However, the released teaser photo does not offer any information about the styling of the car.

The 2020 Outback is expected to flaunt a revamped front fiasco, which is clear from the new shape of headlights and the bumper. The car also comes with vertically-aligned LED fog lamps just like the Forester, while the lower body cladding gets a black finish. New designed side view mirrors are present along with a chrome strip. The “Outback” badge now gets a new position at the rear door. However, the car still rides on the 18-inch wheels which are wrapped in 225/60 radial tyres.

The 2020 Outback is the latest to come with the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), hence, handling, comfort, and safety will be better than before. Along with the Subaru EyeSight driver assist technology, the car will feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard.

The upcoming 2020 Subaru Outback will probably feature a FA24DIT engine under the hood. The mill is capable of churning out a maximum power of 260 hp and a maximum torque of 375 Nm. Moreover, the base variant will get an FB25 mill, which pushes out a maximum power of 182 hp and a maximum torque of 240 Nm.
