The Hyundai high-performance Elantra N Line hits the market
MANILA: After years of testing and months of teasing, Hyundai has finally put the much hyped Elantra N Line in the market in order to appeal to a segment of the market looking for a high-performance compact sedan.
The Elantra N Line comes with a 1.6-liter GDI turbo engine which sends 201hp and 265Nm of torque to the wheels via a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. It suspension has been adjusted for more stiffness to provide more grip. It uses 18-inch alloy wheels, a multi-link independent rear suspension, and larger front brake rotors.
Inside, it comes with paddle shifters and Drive Mode Selector system, a leather-wrapped perforated N steering wheel with metallic spokes, N sport seats with leather bolsters, gearshift with metal accents and leather inserts, and alloy pedals.
Praised for its poise and stance, the Elantra N Line has a "low and wide" exterior styling complemented by the automaker’s "Parametric Dynamics" design theme. Arrow-shaped air curtains on the lower fascia support aerodynamic performance and engine cooling while giving the model a high-performance image, while the sporty side skirts and 18-inch alloy wheels accentuate the fastback sedan’s low and wide aesthetic. The display arrow-like creases on its body panels and glossy black molding on the wheel wells.
The rear has an integrated spoiler, chrome twin exhaust and N Line rear diffuser.
Optional N performance parts are available for those who want to further customize N Line models to suit their preference.
Safety features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).
For ease of use, it also comes with a Hyundai Digital Key, Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
“The new Elantra lineup, with N Line and HEV variants, will satisfy a wider variety of customers. The N Line model will appeal to customers who favor a sporty look and spirited driving performance while the HEV model will appeal to those who prefer high fuel efficiency. The expanded selection will help solidify Elantra’s position in the compact sedan segment,” said Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President, Head of Product Division at Hyundai Motor Group.
