Toyota appeared at the Washington Auto Show with the all-new 2020 Highlander
MANILA: The 2020 Washington Auto Show is now in full swing and is showcasing new crossovers, high horsepower supercars, new car technologies, and up and coming low emission vehicles. Toyota did not miss out on this great opportunity to showcase how it is envisioning the future of mobility.
2020 Highlander
One of the main highlights of Toyota’s display is the all-new 2020 Highlander. This midsize SUV cabin is based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-K), which makes the car not just aesthetically pleasing but also adds greater capability to the vehicle, riding comfort, and improve safety. It comes powered by either a V6 petrol engine with 23 MPG combined fuel economy or the new-generation hybrid powertrain with 36 MPG combined fuel economy. Some of its interior highlights are the 12.3 inches touchscreen display, which is best in its class, panoramic moon roof, Qi wireless charging, and the hands-free power rear liftgate.
2021 RAV4 Prime
The up and coming 2021 RAV4 Prime that was recently showcased at LA auto show is the most powerful and quickest RAV4 yet. Equipped with more powerful motor generators, a newly developed high-capacity Lithium-Ion battery, and a booster converter, the RAV4 Prime has an estimated combined output of 302 hp, an 83 hp jump from the current RAV4 Hybrid. Besides power, this plug-in hybrid also comes in advanced all-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, and exclusive design features.
2021 Mirai Sedan Concept
The Mirai was first launched in 2015 and was the first to carry the fuel cell technology being developed by Toyota. For this year, it got a reboot and remarketed as a premium sedan. The second-generation Mirai will sport a coupe design built on Toyota’s premium rear-wheel-drive platform and is packed with tech and driving performance. Expect the new 2021 Mirai to be released in the latter part of the year.
Besides the aforementioned vehicles, Toyota will also be showcasing prototypes and concept cars to give show-goers a preview on how Toyota imagines the mobility of the future would look like. On display is the LQ Concept, the Micro-Palette, Human Support Robot, and FV2 Concept.
The 2020 Washington Auto Show runs from January 24 through February 2 and features an upwards of 600 cars from more than 35 automakers.
