Toyota Hilux is the best selling pickup in the Philippines

MANILA: Not only in the Philippines, but Toyota is also one of the best-selling auto brands across the planet. While the likes of Toyota Vios rule the passenger car segment in the Philippines, Hilux has come out as the top-selling pickup truck in the country with 10,554 trades in the first half of the year 2019. The high sales figures are the result of the ever-increasing demand for pickup trucks in the Philippines. An increase of 35% in the sales of Toyota Hilux itself is a clear indication of the increasing affection towards pickups.

“Hilux is synonymous with Toyota. The model has been in our lineup for more than five decades and proves itself time and again to be the prime example of Toyota’s strength as a manufacturer. Through the years, the Hilux garnered a global reputation for its sturdiness. Its overall utility as a pickup truck, combined with high ground clearance and excellent towing power, makes for a reliable daily hauler for business and family use", said TMP Vice President for Marketing Elijah Marcial.

Available in 12 trims and at a starting price of Php 829,000 in the Philippines, the Japanese pickup accumulated 4,261 sales in the Metro Manila region from January 2019 to June 2019. Furthermore, Region III was the second-best market for the Toyota Hilux where it managed to gather 1,219 sales.
