Toyota Innova - Top features we like
When compared to the other MPVs in the segment, Toyota Innova always had the upper hand. This is primarily for two reasons - first, its feature-loaded specifications sheet, and second, it is a product of a brand synonymous to reliability, efficiency, and excellent after-sales service. Check out any sales report, and you will find Toyota sitting on the top with Innova playing a significant role. It is for the very same reason why Toyota never delays in giving it an upgrade.
In the Philippines market, the Toyota MPV compete against the likes of Mitsubishi Xpander and the recently revised Rush, and the Innova has never been looked down upon by prospective buyers. Unfortunately, because of the Innova high-end price tag, most buyers are a bit reluctant to put their hands on this Toyota MPV. However, take our word, the car is worth every penny charged.
Toyota Innova is currently in its second generation, and like always it is serving the buyers well. If you are a prospective buyer looking for an eight-seater, luxurious family car, then the Innova is a great option to consider. Here, we have listed a few of Innova’s most striking features.
LED front light setup
The Innova showcases an appealing light set up all around, especially at the front. The sleek headlamps come with LED projector type lamps with clearance lamp and attractive inside elements. The fog and driving lamp benefit from LED setup and come with chrome bezel. Overall the lighting setup is illuminating and engaging, all at once.
Attention seeking grille
The next attractive element is the front grille, and it portrays a butch looking, masculine design that seeks attention. Toyota MPV features an extensive setup of which is a part, both the front grille and bumper area. The grille features a modern structure which includes multiple horizontal chrome and black finish bars placed in proportion to one another. It looks bold and compliments the MPVs robust aura.
Feature ridden interior
The cabin of the current Innova is loaded with a number of utility and luxurious features. Toyota designers have given the Innova dashboard a look that’s to die for; it’s covered in black, wood, and silver accents, all expressing a classy and modern style.
The range-topping trims of Innova as expected gets all the latest features, making the everyday ride smooth and comfortable. The Innova spec sheet displays a 2-DIN display audio system with Audio CD/ DVD/ Turn/ MP3/ Tuner/ Navigation with AUX and USB, six speakers, automatic climate control,
one-touch up and down - window, door lock, side mirror, TFT type multi-information display, ECO indicator, and Bluetooth. Also, included in the list is a smart entry with push start system, 4-spoke multifunction steering wrapped in leather with wood and silver trim, Captain seats (2nd row) with armrest and recline and side function, and ample storage spaces all around.
Spacious cabin
The Toyota Innova is an MPV that can accommodate eight passengers at once. It provides them with a comforting and ultra-spacious cabin. Both the front- and second-row seats offer a sufficient amount of space to move around. However, there are a few complaints about the cramped space experienced in the last row, making it best suited for children. Besides, the Innova offers best-in-class cabin storage options with as many as thirteen bottle holders.
Powerful and reliable engine
The second-gen Toyota Innova is available in two engine options - a 2.8-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol unit. The 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, Double Overhead Camshaft engine churn out a max power of 171 hp (AT) and 167 hp (MT) at 3400 rpm and 360 Nm (AT) and 343 Nm (MT) of peak torque at 1200-3400 rpm. Coming to the petrol option, the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mill poops out 136 hp at 5600 rpm and 183 Nm at 4000 rpm. These mills can be mated either with a 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission with sequential control.
Toyota Philippines offers the Innova in five variants (each with two or more engine trims) - V, G, Touring Sport, E, and J. Toyota Innova color card has eight splashes on offer all with a fantastic finish - Blue Mica Metallic, Black, Silver Metallic, Blackish Red Mica, White Pearl, Alumina Jade, Red Mica Metallic, and Freedom White.
