Updated 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 Revealed
MANILA: Hyundai’s line-up has been witnessing an improved positive response from the customers not only in the Philippines but, across the globe. Recently, the brand received 2016 J.D. Power Appeal award in the country and the factors behind this are quite clear, which include the advanced features, explicit styling and enjoyable performance on the road. To further grab the attention of auto enthusiasts globally, Hyundai is regularly updating the lineup and in the same spree, it has now updated its A-segment hatch now. After a successful run of 3 years in the market, the Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback is now finally updated.
The major changes of the updated Grand i10 can be seen at the front, as the design reflects the Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design language. The refreshed bumper now features bigger air intake and reshaped foglight and the top variants now even features LED daytime running lights positioned just above the air intake. At the rear, the taillights have been revamped along with the bumper, larger reflectors are now equipped for better visibility. To give a pinch of sporty touch to this hatchback are present the new set of alloy wheels.
Considering the interior changes, you will not find any major difference as Hyundai has kept the design elements quite same. The only upgradation which has been done in the interior is that of the infotainment system. The 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 will feature 2-DIN radio as standard on the lower trims while the higher-spec models are now available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The major changes are made on the safety systems of the car and some of the newly added features of Grand i10 include Front Collision Warning System (FCWS), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).
Under the hood configuration has been not changed and the new Grand i10 will continue to carry two engine options: 1.0-litre inline 3-cylinder and 1.2-litre inline 4-cylinder. The smaller unit churns out maximum power output of 66 PS and peak torque of 94 Nm while the bigger unit pushes these output figures to 87 PS and 110 Nm.
For now, the car has been showcased in the European market only and we as Hyundai is not participating in the upcoming PIMS, we might not witness the 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 anytime soon.
