Meanwhile, the Ultra specification for the three nameplates comes with all the features the Plus grades offer and adds technologies such as a 360-degree surround-view parking camera system and active bending pixel LED headlights with adaptive shadow technology.
A powered passenger seat and power-folding rear headrests are also provided, together with a tilt and slide panoramic sunroof (EX40 and XC40 models).

Powertrain choices
The Black Edition Volvo EC40 and EX40 prove that the new variants are more than just a gimmick. Going beyond the typical cosmetic upgrades, the Gothenburg-based carmaker expanded the powertrain options for the crossover and sport utility vehicle (SUV).
In addition to the rear-wheel-driven 252-horsepower (hp) Single Motor Extended Range grade, Volvo added an all-wheel-drive Twin Motor Performance variant. It delivers some 442 hp as well as a remapped accelerator response. It also gets a Performance drive mode to help the person behind the wheel enjoy the extra power to the full.
On the other hand, the gasoline-fed hybrid Volvo XC40 Black Edition is offered with the B3 and B4 mild-hybrid petrol powertrains packing some 163 horses and 197 hp, respectively.
