Volvo sales drop by 26.9% in June

MANILA: Volvo Cars recorded 49,904 units in vehicle sales in June, a decrease of 26.9% versus the same month last year.

    The company reported that 32.3% of all Volvo cars sold in the first half of 2022 were fully electric or plug-in hybrids.

    The number of active subscriptions had increased by 122% at the end of June. The number of Volvo vehicles sold online in the first half of the year also increased by 86% versus the same period last year.

    Volvo sales in Europe reached 16,039 in June, reflecting a 44.1% decrease versus the same month in 2021. Recharge models accounted for 33.8% of overall sales in the region.

    In the US, Volvo sold 8,434 units, 31.2% lower versus June 2021. Recharge models accounted for 25.1% of overall sales in the region.

    In China, 16,468 Volvo units were sold in June, down 1.3% versus the same month last year.

    The XC60 was the best-selling Volvo model in June, moving a total of 18,275 units. It was followed by XC40 with 10,194 units and XC90 with 9,949 units.
